Sipsmith Strawberry Smash Flavored Gin 750ml
Description
Sipsmith Strawberry Smash captures the essence of British summer in a bottle, inspired by the classic Wimbledon tradition of strawberries and cream. This limited seasonal release showcases Sipsmith’s skill at creating flavored gins that maintain sophistication while celebrating quintessentially British flavors and traditions.
The production process starts with Sipsmith’s exemplary London Dry Gin, to which real strawberry essence is added. But this isn’t a simple fruit infusion – Sipsmith uses a careful process to capture the true essence of ripe British strawberries at their peak. The result avoids the artificial sweetness common in berry gins, instead delivering authentic strawberry flavor that complements rather than masks the underlying gin. A hint of cream-like smoothness rounds out the profile, evoking strawberries and cream.
Tasting Strawberry Smash is like visiting a British summer garden party. The nose presents fresh, ripe strawberries – not candy-like but genuinely fruity. On the palate, the strawberry flavor is prominent but balanced, with the base gin’s botanicals providing structure and preventing it from becoming too sweet. There’s a subtle creaminess that evokes the ‘cream’ part of strawberries and cream, adding richness without actual dairy. The finish is refreshing and fruity with lingering berry notes.
This expression shines in summer cocktails where its strawberry character can take center stage. In a strawberry gin and tonic with fresh berries, it creates the perfect garden party drink. Mixed with champagne, it makes an elevated summer celebration cocktail. For those seeking seasonal gins that capture specific moments and traditions, Strawberry Smash offers a taste of British summer – sophisticated, refreshing, and perfectly suited to sunny afternoons and special occasions.
